The decision to cancel last year’s presidential elections was „extremely unusual” and „very courageous”, declared President Nicusor Dan on Thursday, adding that, in the context that led to this event, „everyone was wrong, including Klaus Iohannis”.
„Obviously everyone was wrong, including Klaus Iohannis, but what I want to appreciate is at that moment on December 6, when the Constitutional Court made the decision, the president and the institutions that were in the CSAT and later the Constitutional Court had the courage to make an extremely… let’s call it unusual decision. That was a moment of weakness and error, but which ended with a very, very courageous decision that we must salute. Now, beyond these aspects that are human, we are in a situation, as a society, with respect to our innocence in December 2024, we are in a moment in which we are aware of this hybrid war that was somehow theoretical for us,” the head of state said on Digi 24 TV station.
